Prior to becoming a pastel artist I worked for over 30 years as an architect, urban designer, and transportation planner.  Naturally I'm drawn to painting streetscapes, people, buildings, parks, cars, trains, bridges,etc.  The possibilities of inspiring subject matter are enormous as natural and artificial light changes from day to night, wet to dry, and season to season.

This collection include plein air paintings from recent painting trips...Metolius River, Columbia Gorge/Hood River Valley, Skagit Valley WA, and close to home, Sauvie Island.

Portland's park system includes over 200 parks and recreational facilities.  I began a journey to visit all of them, and to create an expanding series of Portland parks paintings.
